Underground at Ink Block
Boston based design firm, Visual Dialogue, was tasked with designing branding for the I-93 underpass site dubbed Underground at Ink Block. They created bright, movement-filled branding that pays homage to roadside and cautionary signs. They asked Steez to help implement the designs on this 175' on-ramp wall as well as a 25' underpass wall. Using high quality sign paint, we were able to bring the site to life and draw in foot and street traffic. The walls many contours and uneven concrete edges posed a major challenge for the long slight angled lines and type of the graphic. The space was opened with a large scale public party and over a dozen other street artists were brought in to create murals on the surrounding surfaces. This mural and branding was recently featured in Communication Arts Magazine and has worked as a way finding beacon for visitors to the park.
