Purple Martin Mansion

This isn’t your typical birdhouse! I’ve wanted to build one of these for quite some time. I’ve always been inspired by architectural structures and cabins but just don’t have the space to scale up to a life sized model, so I decided to build something cool for the birds. When the pandemic hit, I realized it was the perfect time to bring my sketchbook ideas to life. Little did I know just how much science was involved in making my creation functional. I also didn't expect to be using my chainsaw just to cut these angles, but it made the project that much more fun. Why build another traditional monotone bird hotel when you can have the luxury condo of the skies? For my first birdhouse build, I’m truly happy with the outcome. This is a beautiful, functional, livable work of art. Thanks to Blochaus for finding the perfect client for this birdhouse.
